Gardenia Essential Oil

Regular price $30.00 $15.00 Sale

Gardenia Oil is extracted through enfleurage because of the Gardenia flower is very delicate. The flower has a sweet floral scent. The most fragrant part of the flower is its petals, and it is soaked in fat. The fragrance is absorbed by the fat and is dissolved in alcohol. The process of extraction is very labor intensive and takes time and a lot of resources just to make a very small amount of oil, but it is well worth it because the fragrance is still strong, especially considering the whole process it went through.

It is a small tree that is part of Rubiacea, with the botanical name Gardenia jasminoides. It has glossy and light green leaves. Different parts of Gardenia have been traditionally used to treat fevers, cleansing the body, and scenting teas, but it also has a lot of other benefits:

  • Gardenia Oil can treat bladder infections, jaundice, blood in the urine, sputum, or stool, and abscesses.
  • The oil can be used to treat respiratory issues, headaches, and sinus afflictions, which can be done through inhalation.
  • A few drops of the oil can be added to massaging lotion to make your massage stress-relieving.
  • When needed, direct palm inhalation can be done to make one feel relaxed. Simply take very small amounts of Gardenia Essential Oil and rub it in your palms together for a quick fix.
  • You can add the Gardenia Essential Oil to your soap to make your bath more enjoyable and refreshing.

Notes

  • Like a lot of other Essential Oils, it is not recommended for use for pregnant women and children.
  • It may cause irritation or allergic reactions for people with sensitive skin.
  • Do a patch test before using the oil regularly.
  • For assurance, see your trusted health care professional first before applying the oil in any way or method.
