4 Soothing Essential Oils for Pregnancy

Pregnancy is a very important time in the life of an expecting mother. You have probably heard a lot of myths and rumors from moms in your social circle and family. They may be warning you to stay away from essential oils during your pregnancy. There is actually no need to worry about all of the oils that you may have in your cabinet. There are many that you can still use even when you are pregnant. 

Lavender, Lemon, and Peppermint

All of these oils are incredibly mild and you can continue to use them when you are pregnant. One of the great things about these three oils together is that they make a great allergy blend. Because you cannot take allergy medications when you are pregnant, diffusing this combination of oils will help you to find some allergy relief. If you want to be able to reap the benefits all day long, you can make a blend with these three oils and some coconut oil. Dab a few drops on your every two hours and just inhale the relief!

 Lemon Oil

Lemon oil alone can do wonders for our bodies even when you are pregnant. Pregnancy can make you feel exhausted all the time. When you wake up, drops two or three drops of lemon oil in your water to boost your energy. Citrus oils have a great way of boosting our mood and lemon is one of the best for doing that. If you are afraid to use household cleaners filled with chemicals while you are pregnant, you can also add some lemon oil to make your own cleaners. 

 Frankincense Oil

Frankincense is another great oil that you can use while you're pregnant. If you encounter any type of skin irritations like poison ivy while you are pregnant, you can mix frankincense with some jojoba oil to get rid of the itching and rash in no time at all. You will find great relief when you apply this mixture on your skin a few times a day. 

Postpartum Hair Loss

Many mothers have found that during the postpartum months, you may begin to lose your hair. Cedarwood oil is a great essential oil to add to your shampoo in order to help with hair loss. Add two or three drops and let the shampoo stay on your hair for about 2 minutes. You will be able to tell a difference very soon.

Being pregnant does mean that you have to cut out a lot of your habits and pleasures. It is not all bad because you will be able to use quite a few essential oils throughout your entire pregnancy.
